WARNING - even the team themselves state this update as ' RISKY ' so only use if you really have to !!

Nintendo has just blocked flashards on the DSi yet again with the release of firmware update 1.4.1 today. However, it does not seem like all flashcards have been affected.
Nintendo's system menu update page says the new firmware provides "behind-the-scenes improvements", but as expected that is really just PR speak for "no more homebrew for you". This is the first incremental update for the DSi in over a year, yet it is not believed there are any new features for the DSi outside of flashcards being blocked.

Nintendo's new DSi XL - confirmed to be running version 1.4e firmware, like the Dsi, so runs DSi compatible carts fine.
As always, we recommend you don't upgrade your DSi / DSi XL to 1.5 should it be released until you check wether or not it effects your backup cart use.
1.4 did !! But all the carts below beat it... with ease.
Our recommendations on DSi/Dsi XL carts...
1 - M3i Zero - well built, extrewmely well supported with new firmwares, both M3 and Sakura firmwares, and from the longest established company.
2 - EZ Flash Vi - first to beat the 1.4 upgrade, the EZ Team can be trusted.
3 - Acekard2i - almost equal 2nd, the AK2i has great firmware support, as well as the choice of AK2 or AKAIO firmwares.
4 - R4i Ultra - basically an AK2i clone, but very popular, flashable like AK2i and cheaper !

Well it seems Nintendo have finally released a firmware update for the DSi, and it may block the use of a backup cart.....so simple don't download/install it. 4. Soft reset is enabled for all games by default.
5. A Clock has been implemented on the top left corner of the bottom screen.
6. Scrollbar has been added for better navigation.
7. State restoration. Now applies to all the menu.
8. Homebrews can now be run through iGame instead of recognizing it as a game.
9. Default path for the cheat file has been fixed.
10. Improve the game compatibility.
11. Prompt before running a game has been removed.
12.Fixed the hang-up problem when 'cheat Enable' is selected & no cheat item is selected.

Hopefully it will be with us next week.
Also, NO, we will not be stocking any of the R4 V3 type carts. These are not official R4 cartridges. They offer micro SDHC support, which is a clear sign of a fake or clone unit. Official R4 carts only accept normal micro SD cards upto 2GB in size. They may be cheap, but will they have a working firmware in a few months time ? We're only going to stick with established carts, from well known experienced manufacturers.

Bad News -
we will not be stocking the N5 cartridges at all. Although they are currently far cheaper than the competition, it is come to my attention that this is for a simple reason, and thats because they aren't very good. Surprisingly it was one of our suppliers who told us to stay away as there were many issues still to be resolved such as in game freezing, quality control and faulty units. Be warned. Basically the cartridge is nothing more than an R4 clone.
The fact that this is the only device that has gone down in price tells it all really.

The old spring mechanism that held the micro sd card in place , has now been removed.

Nintendo's new DSi XL - confirmed to be running version 1.4e firmware, like the Dsi, so runs DSi compatible carts fine.
As always, we recommend you don't upgrade your DSi / DSi XL to 1.5 should it be released until you check wether or not it effects your backup cart use.
1.4 did !! But all the carts below beat it... with ease.
Our recommendations on DSi/Dsi XL carts...
1 - M3i Zero - well built, extrewmely well supported with new firmwares, both M3 and Sakura firmwares, and from the longest established company.
2 - EZ Flash Vi - first to beat the 1.4 upgrade, the EZ Team can be trusted.
3 - Acekard2i - almost equal 2nd, the AK2i has great firmware support, as well as the choice of AK2 or AKAIO firmwares.
4 - R4i Ultra - basically an AK2i clone, but very popular, flashable like AK2i and cheaper !

Well it seems Nintendo have finally released a firmware update for the DSi, and it may block the use of a backup cart.....so simple don't download/install it. You won't be able to use the shop feature/online functions, but your cart will still work pefectly. For more info. visit www.GBAtemp.net forums and wait to see what counter measures are developed.

iTouch news - a new firmware 2.1 has been released, adding quite a few inprovements and features.

1. You can now create iFav icons in the iGame menu.
2. Enter the config menu for a ROM with the SELECT button.
3. You can enter the config menu on the iFav menu.
4. Soft reset is enabled for all games by default.
5. A Clock has been implemented on the top left corner of the bottom screen.
6. Scrollbar has been added for better navigation.
7. State restoration. Now applies to all the menu.
8. Homebrews can now be run through iGame instead of recognizing it as a game.
9. Default path for the cheat file has been fixed.
10. Improve the game compatibility.
11. Prompt before running a game has been removed.
12.Fixed the hang-up problem when 'cheat Enable' is selected & no cheat item is selected.

Apologies for the delay in restocking the EZ Flash 3 in 1 carts, but our last shipment is still stuck in UK Customs Clearance.
Hopefully it will be with us next week.
Also, NO, we will not be stocking any of the R4 V3 type carts. These are not official R4 cartridges. They offer micro SDHC support, which is a clear sign of a fake or clone unit. Official R4 carts only accept normal micro SD cards upto 2GB in size. They may be cheap, but will they have a working firmware in a few months time ? We're only going to stick with established carts, from well known experienced manufacturers.

Bad News -
we will not be stocking the N5 cartridges at all. Although they are currently far cheaper than the competition, it is come to my attention that this is for a simple reason, and thats because they aren't very good. Surprisingly it was one of our suppliers who told us to stay away as there were many issues still to be resolved such as in game freezing, quality control and faulty units. Be warned. Basically the cartridge is nothing more than an R4 clone.
The fact that this is the only device that has gone down in price tells it all really.

R4 carts 'NEW DESIGN' !!!
Well, to be honest, it's hardly a new design, as only 1 thing has changed.
The old spring mechanism that held the micro sd card in place , has now been removed.
The slot is now a simple push fit as with most memory card readers.
Less to go wrong for the end user ?
Or cheaper to produce for the R4 team ?? You decide ;-)
